THE ARTIST
Fernando Pedro Salgado
I am Fernando Pedro Salgado, a photographic artist specialising in photography of cities and landscapes. With my work, I seek to communicate the beauty of the environment through my camera.
I was born in Buenos Aires in 1984 and grew up between Argentina and Uruguay, we then moved with my family to Italy in 2003. In 2015 I decided to change careers and deepen my passion for photography.
Today I dedicate my time to this passion and as my travel assignments take me to the most impressive territories in the world; I capture the landscapes, urban areas and culture of these places.
In my work, I relate to the curiosity of the traveler; the journey; the passage from one continent to another and to the fluid adaptation of speaking other languages. Susan Sontang defines it perfectly “photography is, first of all, a way of looking. It is not the gaze itself. ”
For me, it is a culmination of the process that unites the handling of the camera to push the limits – to achieve what I see, and then capturing this image.
I feel blessed and thankful to be able to make a career from my passion and to share my vision with the world.
